Heartland Soccer Hosts Successful Kansas City Champions Cup
Over 450 Teams from 13 States Compete at World-Class Facilities, Contributing an Estimated $8.4 Million to Local Economy
Heartland Soccer recently hosted a remarkable weekend for soccer enthusiasts at the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex on April 14-16, 2023. The Kansas City Champions Cup was a sold-out event that welcomed over 450 teams from 13 states to compete and cemented its reputation as a top-notch youth soccer tournament in the region.
Teams from different parts of the Kansas City metropolitan area and beyond were present, including ECNL, NPL, State, and Regional Champions, contributing an estimated economic impact of $8.4 million for the weekend.
Shane Hackett, Executive Director of Heartland Soccer Association, expressed his excitement at the significant interest and growth in the regional tournaments. The association is proud to host thousands of players and families at these top-rated tournaments, as teams from all over the Midwest and beyond travel to visit their world-class facilities and compete on their fields.
Heartland Soccer is preparing to host the Midwest Mother’s Day Classic from May 12-14, featuring over 400 teams, followed by the highly anticipated Kansas City Invitational, expected to bring in more than 450 teams to the area. With such outstanding tournaments in the pipeline, soccer enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to this season.
